Honoring the spirit and legacy of Harold and Vera Cubitt, this fund will provide grants to educators, extracurricular activities, and programs positively impacting Bad Axe Public Schools students. Applications are due by August 15, 2025.

This grant opportunity is specifically for Ubly educators to support student academic success through classroom enhancements, field trips and experiences, or extracurricular activities such as robotics, forensics, debate, or FFA. Apply by August 15th!

Celebrating innovation and creativity at Bad Axe Public Schools, HCCF awarded the 2025 Hatchet Fund grants to Mr. Pokley and Mr. Snider to further the hands-on learning opportunities available for Bad Axe students.

Since our founding in 1994, HCCF has awarded more than $3 million in grants and scholarships across Huron County.

That’s $3 million invested directly into our communities—supporting education, sparking local projects, and helping organizations grow stronger and more sustainable.

The Nancy Orr Elliott Memorial Educators Fund was created to continue the legacy of Nancy Elliott’s investment in her students and in Ubly Community Schools. The fund will support educators as they enhance the academic experience of K -12 students at Ubly Community Schools. Applications are available now and due September 25, 2024.
