Seeking YAC Members 2025-2026

YAC

Do you know a committed, community-minded high school student interested in sharing their ideas and making a countywide impact?! Encourage them to apply for the Huron County Community Foundation’s Youth Advisory Committee for the upcoming school year.

The Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) is an organization composed of students around Huron County. The YAC is a standing committee of the Huron County Community Foundation (HCCF). Its membership includes four students, ideally one from each grade, from each Huron County high school. The YAC meets monthly to help improve the quality of life in Huron County.

The roles and responsibilities of being a member include: attending monthly meetings, active participation in meetings and events, a deep desire to better our community through grant making, and an interest in working with youth from across the county to have an impact. Students must be in an academic position to miss a half day of school per month to attend meetings. Transportation is provided.

The YAC was established in 1997 and continues to flourish. While in YAC, individuals are taught the importance of philanthropy and giving back to the community while having fun and making new friends.

The YAC currently has the following openings:
1- Caseville
2- Harbor Beach
1- Lakers
2- North Huron
3- Owendale Gagetown
1- Ubly

Preference is given to students who can contribute to the YAC for multiple years (preferably those entering their 9th grade year) but all interested students may apply.

The application is linked below and should be returned to HCCF, through email or mail, by August 20, 2025.
