2026 Community Philanthropy Award - Accepting Nominations

The Huron County Community Foundation (HCCF) is now accepting nominations for the 2026 Huron County Community Philanthropy Award. HCCF was founded in 1994 with the vision of individuals giving together to create a larger community impact. HCCF was started with an initial gift of $1,000 and now manages nearly $11 million in endowed assets.

The Huron County Community Philanthropy Award honors a living individual or couple for service as a volunteer, a board member, or a donor who made a significant effort to help grow our community through philanthropy in Huron County.

Previous recipients include:

  • 2024 – Jackie Gainor, Harbor Beach

  • 2025 – Melissa Deming, Port Austin

Nominations will be accepted for a living individual or couple who have demonstrated commitment, leadership, impact, creativity and collaboration through service and philanthropy. "We want to celebrate the generosity that sustains our local non-profit organizations. So many give of their time, talent, and treasure to support and grow these organizations. This is a small way we can celebrate contributions to our community," said HCCF Executive Director, Mackenzie Price.

To nominate an individual or couple for this award, please complete the nomination form and include up to two pages that describe the nominee's commitment, leadership, impact, creativity, and collaboration through their involvement with Huron County non-profit organizations. Nominations are due Friday, August 14, 2026 at 5 p.m. and can be emailed to mackenzie@huroncounty.com or mailed to Huron County Community Foundation, P.O. Box 56, Bad Axe, MI 48413. An HCCF committee will review and select the award winner.

Please contact Mackenzie with any questions – mackenzie@huroncounty.com, 989-269-2850.
